Hi Everyone
Thanks you for joining me again, on my next adventure, I hope you all enjoy my journey and please feel free to comment if you wish. If you do, please leave your name so I know who is talking to me. Here we go....
I left Bendigo at 6am, on Friday morning, 9pm Thursday night, London time.... what a journey. As I was in line to check in, I saw a fellow passengers luggage tag, I could hardly miss it. He had it written in black marker and posted on big white sheets of paper, all over his luggage. I kid you not, he was from the Phillipines and his name was.... "Randy Bonus"....I checked both cases as I was sure the marker had made the letters look wrong, but no, somewhere in Manilla lives Randy Bonus... I still smile when I think of his name. The flight was full of babies and toddlers and I was like, "OMG, I will never get any sleep...". I was very impatient to get to England to see Kearie, and I was not very pleased when I then found out we had a 4 hour stopover in Burnei, what the hell do you do for 4 hours in Borneo, when you can't leave the airport.... not a lot apparently. Before we arrived in Borneo, I noticed a lady on the other side of the plane, I could only see her back, as she was in the door area, doing what looked like exercises to releave an aching back. She was leaning forward and back and squating and all sorts of things and I was thinking.."great a pregnant lady, all I need now is for her to go into labour and they have to land this machine in some other god awful place and I will waste more time...". I wss really getting annoyed... I might mention here that I have given up cigarettes that morning, so obviously I am very calm and loving the world about now.... I kept my eye on this pregnant lady, not liking the whole early labour thoughts, when suddenly she leans right back and I get to see her full face, including her beard.... Okay so not a pregnant lady (just some weirdo exercise fanatic). I was incredibly pleased about that, as I was really annoyed about the whole landing the plane to get her to hospital senario. The rest of the flight passed by, all the infants were wonderfully behaved really, for such a long flight. The food was passable, and I got about 5 to 6 hours sleep all told, in several intervals. All was right with the world and I was congratulating myself on doing such a wonderful job not needing cigarettes...
I arrived at Heathrow, Kearie was to meet me at the airport and she wasn't there. I started to get concerned that I had her message wrong and I was meant to meet her at the Victoria Bus station after all. I have no mobile coverage, as I didn't have an English sim yet, but finally found a pay phone that took coins and gave her a call. Her train was delayed, but she was on her way. She arrived not long after and it was awesome, she looked terrific and I couldn't believe we were finally together again. She had made me a neon sign to hold up, she was very disappointed that her train had been delayed several times, but I was just so pleased to see her that I didn't mind she wasn't here when I arrived. I wasn't too tired and the day ahead looked great. We took my luggage back to her house, I had a shower, and felt decidedly good. We then ate some lunch and went into town to do some shopping and to visit the shops where Kearie worked. She wanted to leave little gifts I had brought for her friends.
I borrowed some shoes from Kearie and they were very comfortable, but unfortunatley they made my ankles look enormous. Never mind I thought an off we went. I met some more of kearie's colleagues and the famous Gary, from Jeeves Dry cleaners. They have the royal warrant for Prince Charles. I took a photo of Gary and Kearie in front of the Warrant and will post it for you tomorrow. It is almost 2am here and Kearie is asleep and as the pic is on her camera, I cannot access it. If I wake her, she will kill me. Enough said. A little side information. Gary informs me that if a business displays the warrant outside the premises, it means that the royal patronage person enters teh business, premises. If the warrant is displayed inside the premises then the business goes to the royal person. In Jeeves case, Gary goes to Clarence house to tend to Prince Charles and the "two young princes", as Gary calls them. So see, you can still elearn stuff from this blog...
We went to Primark and Harrods and by then I had realised that Kearies shoes were not making my ankles look big, my ankles really were enourmous... I am so thick sometimes. they must have swollen to about 3 times there size on the flight and I hadn't noticed.... By now they were really starting to ache, I was getting very tired and I just wanted to go home. I was paying for my purchases at Primark when Kearie mentioned that I didn't have many cards in my wallet, only my bank cards, as I didn't need all of the hundreds of cards we all accumulate, I had swapped purses before I came and only brought the necessary ones. "Oh, so where's you licence?" asks my beautiful daughter.... "Oh Sh...t" said I. Can you believe that, I am hiring two cars while I am here, one in five days, and I didn't bring my licence. Sometimes I still think I should not be left out alone. Well, this was a fine pickle I had gotten us into. My brain was mush, I was stressing beyond belief, so I calmly turned to my daughter and said, "Sweetheart, I want nicotine and I want it NOW"... So that lasted a whole 2 days... Never nimd I only brought the smallest packet, 10 cigarettes, so I will try again tomorrow and see how I go.... stay tuned, but if my feelings toward the the pregant man and the forgetting my licence are anything to go by, this could be a long, hard, drawn out process. I hope Kearie is still talking to me at the end of our trip....
We posted a help needed message on facebook and Learra has answered the call and is rallying, she is going to drive to Bendigo and get my licence, she will then express post it to us in France and we should be fine, all being well, yeah I know, but sometimes things work out. I fell asleep about 8 pm and Kearie work me at 11, so now I am up and not tired and she is sleeping like a baby. I will try to get some more sleep soon, so I am fresh for tomorrow, more shopping so hopefully my ankles will deflate overnight.... It is now 5 minutes to 3am.....
No more news, what a start to our adventure, but if this is the worst that happens, then we should be fine.... fingers crossed.
Cheers for now
Lones
